Susie Eliza Newman

Susie Eliza Newman, 88, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at The Nichols Center in Madison after a long struggle with Alzheimers disease.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in the Crystal Springs City Cemetery.

Susie was a life long resident of Crystal Springs prior to her illness. She will be missed by her family and friends and especially her boys Kent and Sells whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sells J. Newman Sr.; and her beloved grandson, Jason Newman.

Survivors include: her two sons, Kent Newman, wife, Pharis and their daughter, Parker of Crystal Springs; and Sells J. Newman Jr. and wife, Nancy of Ridgeland; her special niece, Cookie Barland Bufkin of Madison; brother, Sam McGuffee of Springfield Mo; and sister, Katherine Price of Utica.
