Dorothy Drake Turner

Dorothy Drake Turner, 75, of Crystal Springs, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. 

 Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Thursday at Stringer Family Funeral Home.  Services will be 2pm Friday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Gatesville Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

 Mrs. Turner was a member of Gatesville Baptist Church where she served as church secretary, taught Sunday school for over 20 years and was superintendent of Sunday night training union. Mrs. Turner was a longtime member of the Republican party and served as secretary of the Copiah County Republican Party for many years.  She enjoyed doing volunteer work at Copiah Living Center and Pinecrest Guest Home.
 
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Ross Turner, Jr.
 
She is survived by sons, Haskell Ross Turner, III of Terry, and James Grady Turner of Crystal Springs; daughters, Kathleen Turner Phelps of Zachary, LA, and Ann Dahl of Bergen, Norway; sister, Jeannene Ann Patterson, Trussville, AL; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
