James G. Jenkins, 57, formerly of Hazlehurst, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, from Westhaven Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Willie L. Lewis officiating. Interment was in Clear Creek No. 1 M. B. Church cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins was born July 25, 1951 to Burdean Womack and Harry Jenkins Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of Parrish High School and received a degree from Devry Institute of Technology with further study at Jackson State University. He was a Vietnam War veteran.
Survivors include: wife, Dotsie Johnson Jenkins of Jackson; mother, Burdean Womack of Hazlehurst; daughters, Deborah Thrasher of Hazlehurst and NKenga Jenkins of Jackson; sissters, Barbara Harris Johnson (Cornelius), Burnette Brown-Smith (Richard) and Sherry Isaac Powell, all of Jackson, Mary Jenkins-Wallace (Melvin) of Maywood, IL, and Valerie Jenkins of Chicago; brothers, Billy Isaac of Jackson, Darryl Womack of Hazlehust, Harry Jenkins, Jr., Chester Ray Jenkins, Herman Jenkins (Tina), and Ricky Jenkins (Alicia), all of Chicago; and four grandchildren.
