Catherine Barron Welch
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Thursday at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 2pm Friday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Palestine Cemetery.
Mrs. Welch was born April 25, 1926 in the Old Pearl Community area of Simpson County and spent most of her life in the Terry and Florence area. She was a retired manager of the D. B. McDonald vegetable stand at the Farmers Market on Woodrow Wilson in Jackson.
Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Spurgeon Barron and Lola Barron, husband, Delma D. (Shorty) Welch, her daughter, Barbara Faye Yarbrough, one sister, Grace McDonald and five brothers, Willie J. Barron, David B. Barron, Luther Barron, Clyde Barron and Author Ray Barron.
She is survived by son, Doug Welch and wife Robbie and son Tommy Welch of Florence; sister Samantha Buckley of Harrisville; five grandchildren, Chris Hodges and wife Wendy of Florence, Stephanie Uthoff and husband Tommy of Florence, Jason Yarbrough of Raymond, Russell D. Welch of Florence, Amy Spears and husband Chris of Lena; five great grandchildren, Chris and Brianna Hodges, Cody Uthoff of Florence, Adisyn Pace of Terry, and Tanner Powell of Lena.
