Calvin Henry Britt
Calvin Henry Britt, 83, of Wesson, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his home.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 16 at 11 a.m. from Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Britt will lie in state at the church Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until service.
Mr. Britt was born April 28, 1926,, to Henry Rock Britt and Winnie Marie Minton Britt. He retired after 36 years with Bell South as a cable maintenance supervisor. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and served as a Trustee for Copiah-Lincoln Community College for 24 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and former Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dianne Britt Miller; infant son; and brothers, Denver Britt, Monviel Britt and Beaver Britt.
Survivors include: wife, Dorothy Minton Britt of Wesson; son and daughter-in0law Clifford Calvin and Marilyn Britt of Wesson; sister, Winnie Lowery of Brookhaven; four grandchildren, Michael Van Britt, Clifford Hillry Britt, Christopher Brister, and Patrick Brister, all of Wesson; and 11 great grandchildren.
