Peggy Ann Reynolds Hennington

Peggy Ann Reynolds Hennington, 73, of Hazlehurst died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson.  

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Friday and 9:30am-10:30am Saturday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 10:30am Saturday at Stringer Family Chapel with interment in Antioch Memorial Cemetery at 4088 Antioch Rd., Hazlehurst.  Pastor Bobby Smith will conduct the services with former pastor Thomas Goza assisting.

Peggy was born to Nelson and Myrtle Barlow Reynolds on April 6, 1937 in Barlow.  She attended Hazlehurst schools and graduated from Hazlehurst High School in 1955.  She attended Business School and worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation until she married Dodds Hennington on April 20, 1958.  She was a dedicated wife and mother of three sons.  She supported her husband during 2 years of active duty and 8 years of Army Reserve and his 38 years of service with Mississippi Power & Light and Entergy, which resulted in many moves and job changes.

When her boys were young, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother, school bus driver for trips, and room mother for many years.  She supported them from an early age through High School for all types of sports (baseball, football, basketball and soccer). Sometimes she had to get them to 2 places at the same time. (one early and one late)

 Peggy loved to play games with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and devoted much time to them.  Peggy loved all types of games especially bridge.  At one time she was the member of four clubs.

 Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert “Bob” Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years; sons Mark W. Hennington (Mary) of Hazlehurst, Michael D. Hennington (Debbie) of Utica, and Matthew L. Hennington of Leakesville; grandchildren, Michael L. Hennington (Evan) of Talluha, LA, Heather Perry of Hazlehurst, Christy Hennington of Utica, Drew Rymer of Starkville and Dexter Hennington of Hazlehurs; great grandchildren Riley and Ireland Perry, Caleigh and Katie Hennington and Landon Rhymer, Brother Dale Reynolds of Meridian, Idaho and sister Hazel Upton of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Antioch Memorial Cemetery Fund at 11038 Barlow Road of to your favorite charity.
