Paul Edwards, 90, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at University Medical Center

Visitation will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst on Monday, October 29, from 5pm-8pm.  Services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, at Rehoboth Methodist Church at 10am.  Burial will be immediately after at Rehoboth Memorial Cemetery.

 
Mr. Edwards was born on April 21, 1922.  He was a WWII Veteran.  He served two terms as Copiah County Supervisor District 3 from 1952-1960, and also served on the Hazlehurst City School Board.  He was a retiree of the Army Corp of Engineers where he worked as a welding foreman.  He was a cattle farmer, tree farmer, and a carpenter.  Mr. Edwards was a life time member of Rehoboth Methodist Church and a founding member of the Barlow Volunteer Fire Dept.
 
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Edwards, a son, Jimmy Edwards, his parents, Jessie and Myrtis Edwards, a sister, Juanita Conn, and a brother Donald Edwards.  He is survived by his children, Michael (Judy), Bobby (Jane), Ricky (Polly), Marie Burgess (Tom), Edna Stevens (Ricky), and Lisa Chandler (Ernest), 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, a sister, Lucye Reed and a brother, Nelson Edwards.
 

Memorials may be made to Rehoboth Cemetery Fund.
