Philip “Mack” Smith
Philip “Mack” Smith, 95, of Crystal Springs, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson.
Visitation will be 9am-11am Tuesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home. Services will be 11am Tuesday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Mr. Smith was a native of Union Church. After high school he served in the US Army and the C. C.’s. He was a journeyman pipe fitter. Mr. Smith was a Baptist, a longtime deacon, and was a mason for 60 years.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wives, Jeanette Williams, Evelyn Clower Smith, and Leva Dell Smith.
He is survived by son, Philip R. Smith of Vaughn; daughters, Margie Whittington of Natchez and Janice Schoeller of Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
