Charles Ezra Thompson 76, formerly of Wesson, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at The Residence at Bay Cove in Biloxi.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 29 from Strong Hope Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery Visitation is also Monday September 29, from 11:00 am until time of services.
He was born to the late Francis Thompson and Ruby Smith Thompson on March 27, 1938 in Wesson, Mississippi.
Mr. Thompson was the husband to the late Nancy Yates Thompson, to whom he married on Sept. 25, 1959 and until his death on Sept 25, 2014 would have been married 55 years.
He served in the United States Army for 20 years. After retirement, he spent ten years serving the intellectually disabled. He was much loved by his family and he enjoyed whittling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Precious memories will always be cherished by his three loving children: William J. Thompson of Biloxi, MS. Stephanie N. Thompson of Pascagoula, MS and Robert W. Thompson of Gulfport, MS. and his grandchildren: Jessica L. Thompson of Hattiesburg, MS; Colin J. Thompson of Lucedale, MS; Skyler W. Thompson and Tiffany N. Thompson, both of Gulfport, MS. his two sisters, Mary (Loyd) Nations of Memphis, TN and Judy Harris of Wesson, MS
Mr. Thompson is also survived by his mother-in-law, Flonnie Turbo and her daughter, Helen Mayson of Wesson, MS. and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
