Beatrice Black Sullivan, 102, of Crystal Srpings, died Thursdya, October 9, 2014 at Baptist Health Systems in Lenoir City, TN.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs, MS, Sunday October 12, 2014 at 2:30 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at the church prior to the funeral and burial at the Crystal Springs City Cemetery, with Rev. Joel Haire and Dr. Stan Weatherford officiating. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on October 4, 1912 in Crystal Springs, MS, and lived there all of her life until her health forced her to move to TN to live near her son, Glen and his family.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs, where she taught young children in Sunday school and enjoyed singing and traveling with the Golden Choir. The only thing she did other than being a homemaker and a gardener was working many years at Bernstein Shirt Factory and retired as a supervisor.
Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Carley Seay Sullivan in 1986, her parents, John Austin and Mattie Knight Black, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Glen Sullivan and his wife Danny Fay of Knoxville, TN; two grandsons, Haig Sullivan and his wife Teresa of Hendersonville, TN, Eric Sullivan and his wife, Karen, of Lenoir City, TN; seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews who lovingly called her Bea-Bea or Aunt Bea.
