Dale Fahner

Dale Keith Fahner, 65, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Visitation will be 10am-11am on Saturday, February 7, at Hazlehurst United Methodist Church followed by the funeral at 11am.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

 
Mr. Fahner was born on October 8, 1949, in McComb, MS and attended Southwest Mississippi Community College.  The Fahners moved to Hazlehurst, MS in September, 1979, where Mr. Fahner was manager of TG&Y Stores.  He also worked as a sales rep for The John Henry Company of Lansing, MI for 21 years and The One Coast Company of Atlanta, GA for 5 years. 
 
Mr. Fahner was a member of Hazlehurst United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Ellis Allen Sunday School Class.  An avid sports fan, he loved LSU football and watching games with his children.
 
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Laura Kimble Fahner, and his children Dale Keith Fahner, Jr., Laura Kristen Irick and her husband, Jay, of Austin, TX ; David Fahner and Melody Barber of Hazlehurst, MS; and Emily Fahner of Houston, TX. He was blessed with three grandchildren: Chloe Fahner, of Bogue Chitto; Cate Irick, and Allison Irick of Austin, TX. He is also survived by brothers John G. Fahner, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Crossville, TN and Joseph A. Fahner and his wife Linda, of Rowlett, Texas. Other survivors are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Harry Young, of McComb, MS; Marsha and Terry Adams of Hammond, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Mr. Fahner was preceded in death by his parents John G and Dorothy Fahner.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hazlehurst United Methodist Church.
