Fay Lynn Carraway Gandy

Fay Lynn Carraway Gandy, 80, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her home.

Visitation will be at Sardis Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, on Sunday, November 1, from 2 PM until 6 PM and Monday, November 2, from 9:30 AM until 11 AM. The funeral service will take place at Sardis Baptist Church on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11 AM, with the graveside service to follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Vann Windom, Jr. and Rev. Billy Barnes will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gandy was born January 26, 1935 in Copiah County to Ezekiel W. and Ada B. Hood Carraway. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Hazlehurst and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Hazlehurst Chapter # 25. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also loved gardening, flowers, and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda Gandy Pell; her sister, Dorothy Mangold; and her brother Marvin Carraway.

Survivors include: her husband of 63 years, William Wallace Gandy; her daughters, Sherry Gandy King and Robert King of Wesson, MS and Tammy Gandy Caruthers and her husband Stephen of Madison, MS; sons Larry Gandy of Hazlehurst, MS and Dwayne Gandy and his wife Wanda Kay of Cincinnati, OH; her brother, Thomas H. Carraway of Fayetteville, AR; her sisters, Elizabeth Waltman of Wesson, MS, Juanita Harris of Gallman, MS, and Joy Granger and her husband Johnny of Hazlehurst, MS; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Ministries, 397 Brookhaven Street, Brookhaven, MS 39601.
