Randall Shawn Matthews, 44, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 pm at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2pm at Stringer Family Chapel with burial to follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Randall was a man of love, dedication, and faith. His love for his family, his friends and his work was unparalleled. He loved his wife with all of his heart. His greatest joy was his sons as he instilled in them a love for and longing to serve the Lord. He was a friend to all and loved by everyone who met him. He enjoyed his work at Delphi and his years in the IBEW Local 480 Electrical Union. His kind nature and gentle spirit were evident to those who had the pleasure of working with him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Nadima Thomas of Byram, his paternal grandparents, Maxine Sandifer and L.E. Matthews, Jr. of Florence, and his niece, Lillian Hux of Brookhaven.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry, his sons, Shawn and Seth of Florence and stepsons, Danny Ray Foster (Kristine) and Cameron Foster (Kelly) of Brookhaven; his parents, L.E. and Linda Matthews, his brother, Michael Matthews (Pamela) and his sisters Nicole Matthews and Lauren Russell (Daniel) all of Florence; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jessie Herbert and Carolyn Hux, his sister-in-law, Wanda Britt (Chuck) and brother-in-law, Kevin Hux (Glenda), his grandaughter, Vidalia Foster, all of Brookhaven, and nieces and nephews, Parker, Aidan, Tristan, Kayla, Ariana, Brady and Jessie.
