Willmer Newman

Willmer Newman, 97, of Wesson, passed away July 5, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson.

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Sunday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services will be 11am Monday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Wesson Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Mae Newman, parents, Charles H. and Laura Bell Newman, daughters, Rose Marie Newman and Vivian Newman, and 9 brothers and 6 sisters.

He is survived by son, Frankie Newman (Faye) of Hazlehurst; daughters, Margaret Ann Newman Gillespie of Atlanta, GA; brother, Grady Newman (Rachel), niece, Lisa Dykes of Wesson; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
