Michael Gene Watson

Michael Gene Watson, age 27, passed away on August 27, 2017 in Canton, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 6:00 until the 7:00 p.m. memorial service at Spring of Praise Church in Crystal Springs.  Rev. Darrel Blankenship will be the officiating minister.  Breeland Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Michael was born January 25, 1990 to John Thomas (Tom) Watson (Tammy Kyle) of Martinsville, MS and Susan Norris Chapman (Edward) of Lawrenceburg, TN. He was employed in Canton, MS by Whelan Security where he worked on the fire brigade. Michael was a state certified volunteer fire fighter and recently served fire departments in Copiah and Rankin Counties. He graduated from Co-Lin Community College with a degree in HVAC/R and was homeschooled through ABeka. He loved fishing, hunting, mudding and hanging out with his friends and family.
He is survived by, his parents, his grandmother Katie Blackwell Shows of Mendenhall and grandfather James R. Brown of Brandon; his sisters Kayla N (Trent) Grigsby of Lawrenceburg, TN and Tammy (T K) Kyle of Martinsville; niece Ciera Hogan; aunts Anita Hamby of Florence and Jennifer (Cecil) Templeton of Hazlehurst; uncles James O. Brown of Brandon and Jody Watson of NE; great aunt Joyce Croxton of D’Lo. He was loved by a host of cousins, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Edna and Bernard Watson, aunt Suzanne Warren and Jeff Watson of Hazlehurst.
