Charley Ward
Charles Everette Ward (Charley) of Wesson, MS, died September 17, 2017 at home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
Charley was born on January 6, 1948 to Charley Hollis Ward and Gladys Stokes Ward in Meridian, MS. He grew up in New Orleans and lived in Chalmette until Hurricane Katrina, at which time he and his wife moved to Wesson.
Charley graduated from Chalmette High School and Southeastern University in Hammond. He worked for many years as a Store Manager for Western Auto and, prior to Katrina, he owned and operated Bikes Plus in New Orleans. He retired from Skinner Chevrolet where he worked for several years after moving to Wesson.
Charley is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Ray Ward; his sons, John S. Ward and wife, Kathleen, of Madisonville, LA, and James D. Ward and his wife, Leah, of Metairie, LA; grandsons, Alek Ward, Peyton Ward, and Nathan Ward, and granddaughter, Monica Catalanotto; stepsisters, Barbara Holyfield of Meridian, Shirley Smith, Connie Warren and Annette Watkins, of Neshoba County; sister-in-law, Irene Williamson of Wesson; brother-in-law, Vernon Ray of Terry; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
