James B. “Jimmy” Slay, 77, of Murray, Ky., died Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at the Murray Calloway County Hospital. He was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as an inspector. He was of Baptist faith. Mr. Slay was born December 23, 1942, in Hopewell, to the late Homer and Martha Jeanette Miller Slay. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Slay; one son, Michael Bell; and two brothers, Bill Slay and Alvin Slay. He is survived by his wife, Donnis Slay, of Murray, Ky. They were married June 14, 1974, in Crystal Springs. He is also survived by two daughters, Alicia Williams, of Bogue Chitto, and Melissa Durham, of Murray, Ky.; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. The J.H.
