Michael Lowery Brewer
Michael “Mickey” Lowery Brewer, of Georgetown, returned to rejoice with our Heavenly Father after having passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
Mickey, the son of Bud and Anna Lou Brewer, was born March 28, 1953, in Hazlehurst.
A strong work ethic was instilled by both his mother and father, having worked so diligently to raise six children: Jeanene Engle, Billie Smith, Kirby Brewer, Jimmy Brewer, Mickey Brewer, and Judy Clyburn.
Mickey served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army from 1971 to 1974. Mickey was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, and Sharpshooter Badge.
Mickey embarked on a career path that yielded more than 45 years in the oil and gas industry where lifelong friendships developed, never to be forgotten. Mickey’s charismatic smile, paired with his continual willingness to help others, resulted in a man respected and admired by those who came to know him. Mickey was always the life of the party. His sense of humor and love of storytelling will be dearly missed.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Teresa Brewer; daughters, Amy Brewer, of Florence; Jennifer Brewer Barnett, of Brookhaven; Mica Brewer, of Manning, S.C.; Dr. Billie Brewer of Benton, Ark.; Dana Haynes, Casey Rainer, Linsey Goodman, all of Crystal Springs; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and lastly, his beloved fur babies, Xander and Zeus.
