Louise Greer Johnson

Louise Greer Johnson, 97, of Crystal Springs, passed away on May 5, 2026, at Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born on Dec. 21, 1928, in Copiah County. She was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. She was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church and loved spending time working in her yard, tending her garden, and caring for her flowers.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Johnson Hunter; son, Johnny Mack Johnson (Joanne); grandchildren, Jennifer Hunter Johnson (Michael), Nickey Johnson (Jackie), Rickey Johnson, and Jacob Hunter (Laci); great-grandchildren, Clayton Moulder (Madison), Elizabeth Moulder, Harper Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Reagan Johnson, MaKinley Johnson, Jace Johnson, Tiffanii Hunter, and Channing Hunter; sisters, Doris Ball and Frances McLendon; and caregiver, Candace Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Thelma Greer; husband, Johnnie P. Johnson; brothers, James Miller Greer and Thomas Ray Greer; and son-in-law, Walter Hunter.

Mrs. Johnson will be remembered for her love of family, her strong faith, and the care she showed to everyone around her.
