Jack Grant

Jackie Ray (Jack) Grant, 77, passed away March 20, 2025.  The service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 24, at Stringer Family Chapel, with burial at Shady Grove Cemetery.  The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Grant was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved everything about the river.  Mr. Grant was a member of Rockport Hunting Club, where he loved playing dominoes and horseshoes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan McManus Grant; parents, Jairl Lamar Grant and Irene Davis Grant; sisters, Shirley Clark, Shelba Barnes, and Darlene Lovelady; brother, Luther Grant; and grandson, David Wayne Hamilton.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Grant (Ted); Laura Grant Formby (David); grandchildren, Jacqueline Renae Hutson, Michael Joseph Hamilton (Amber), Amarah Michele Newman, Justus Grant Davis, Iris Linderman (Jacob), Avery Kyle Green (Turner), Lila Formby, Asher Formby, Caitlin Hester, and Braxton Hester; great-grandchildren, Lane McManus, Wyatt McManus, Jaxen McManus, Rayne McManus, Levi Grant Hamilton, Evelyn Newman, Henry Blankenship, and Lucy Blankenship; sisters, Geraldene Boyett and Margie Sturgis (Gene); and brothers, Eddie Grant (Jamie) and Ricky Grant.
