Carolyn Maxine Johnson

A celebration of life will be held for Carolyn Maxine Johnson at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at Bethesda Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will start at 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Carolyn Maxine Johnson, 93, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Nov. 19 at Copiah County Medical Center. She was born in Hazlehurst on March 20, 1932, to Earl Page and Lucretia Watts Page.

Maxine was an untiring worker with her husband on their farm. She loved working with her flowers and watching birds and butterflies. She was a dedicated Christian who always read her bible daily and faithfully attended church. She served as the church secretary for several years.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, James A. Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Harvey W. Johnson (Dwana) and C. Earl Johnson (Daphne); three grandchildren, Kent Johnson (Lacey), Christopher Johnson, and Tabitha Rager (Andrew); and three great-great-grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, A.J. Rager, and James Rager.
