Russell James Hebert
A graveside service will be held for Russell James Hebert on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Hazlehurst. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Riverwood Family.
Russell James Hebert, 77, of Wesson, passed away on May 13 at his home surrounded by all his girls.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1948, to the late Celestine Claude Hebert and Anna Belle Vaughn Hebert.
Mr. Hebert served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a food safety inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture, while he was a self-employed cattle farmer, and distributor of Pro-Lix Liquid Feed. He was a member of the Copiah County Cattlemen’s Association, the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association, and was the 1983 Mississippi Conservation Farmer of the Year.
He enjoyed spending time at home on his farm and tending to his cattle. He loved spending time with his grandkids, always looking out for them and joking back and forth with his friends. He loved being a father to his son-in-law, Kevin. He also enjoyed hunting and watching John Wayne westerns.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Ann Runnels Hebert; daughters, Jennifer Farmer and husband Brad, of Madison, and Kelli Rusanne Barfield and husband, Kevin, of Wesson; three grandchildren, Kenzie Alicia Farmer, Kayla Alana Barfield, and Sandra Jessica Farmer; his sister, Kathy Hebert Stoltzfus; and extended family, Rita Runnels.
