Robert Lee Gandy

Robert Lee Gandy, 76, of Lexington Park, MD, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 7 in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Mr. Gandy was born March 17, 1932, in Hazlehurst to James David Gandy and Jessie Mae (Armstrong) Gandy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Ann (Keiflin) Gandy; grandson, Raymond Coontz; and brothers, C.A. Gandy, James Denver Gandy, Levan Gandy and Luther Gandy.

Survivors include: children, Mary Ann Coontz of Lexington Park, Frances C. Willis of Boone, NC, and Robert Lee Gandy, Jr. of Landham, MD; sisters, Linnie Gandy Shirley of Jackson and Minnie Gandy Meadows of Madison; brothers, Wallace Gandy and Walter Gandy of Hazlehurst, John Gandy of Clinton, and Marion Gandy of Baton Rouge, LA.
