Gerry Lewis Mosley

Gerry Mosley, 54, of Wesson, died Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 in Gallman, MS.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5 – 8 at Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services and burial with military honors will be held at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Friday June 5th, at 10 am.
 
Born in Jackson, MS, the son of the late George H. Mosley, Sr., and Maudie E. Mosley, Mr. Mosley was a resident of Copiah County for 35 years.  He was retired from the State of MS and the Armed Forces of the United States.  At the time of his death he was practicing as a Certified Flight Instructor and aviation mechanic.
 
He attended Zion Hill Baptist Church.  Besides being a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, Gerry had a passion for flying.  He was highly regarding by those within the aviation circle.
 
Mr. Mosley was a staunch advocate for injured soldiers of the Iraq war, to the extent of delivering testimony before the United States House of Representatives.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, George H. Mosley, Sr. brothers, George H. Mosley, Jr. and Jerry Carl Mosley.
 
He is survived by his mother, Maudie E. Mosley of Clinton; wife of 20 years, Lisa Woods Mosley of Wesson; children, Buddy (Megann) Mosley of Learned; Darrell (Lori) Mosley of Brandon; Marty Mosley of Jackson; Gabe Mosley and Madison Mosley of Wesson.  He is also survived by brothers, John E. Mosley (Carolyn) of Clinton; Terrell Mosley of Clinton; and Steve Mosley of Clinton; sister, Sherrell Loggans of Clinton.  Three grandchildren also survive him, Molly and Jenna Mosley of Learned and Ben Mosley of Brandon.
