Captain Herbert Leslie Johnson

Captain Herbert Leslie Johnson, 92, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Nassau Bay, TX.

A Visitation will be held on March 1, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at St Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 18300 Upper Bay Road, Houston, TX 77058. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Herbert’s memory in lieu of flowers may do so to St Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church.

He was born on April 4, 1921 in Oatman, AZ to Frank and Hilma Johnson.

When Herbert’s country called he answered by joining the U.S. Navy. He severed in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and retired after 28years of service. As a civilian he worked for the Navajo Nation and Houston Lighting and Power Company retiring again in 1991. Herbert had a passion for reading and expanding his knowledge and loved to travel to all parts of the world.

Herbert is survived by his: wife of 49 years, Adonis Martin-Johnson, formerly of Copiah County; children, Harry Victor Johnson, Dana Forest Findley, Kevin Matthew Johnson, Sean Leslie Johnson, Seanna Lanae Johnson, Austin Matthew Johnson, Jarred Paul Johnson and Katie Lee Johnson; sisters, Francis Annette Rojas and numerous family members.
