Sharon Newman
Sharon Lynn Whittington Newman, 45, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, Feb. 10 in Hazlehurst, after a short battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be performed at Bethel Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, MS on Saturday, February 14th at 11:00 AM. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Sharon was born in Marks, on Dec. 29, 1969. Sharon was a very dedicated middle and high school English teacher who made a positive impact on the lives of many students.
Sharon was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. She is survived by husband and best friend: Mark Newman; sons: B.J. Newman, Asa Newman, and David Newman; mother: Ada Whittington; brother: Ken Whittington; and sister: Susan Lee. She was preceded in death by her father A.J. Whittington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Bethel Baptist Church or your desired charity.
