James Chandler
James “Buster” Chandler of Crystal Springs died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 11am Thursday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Hopewell Cemetery.
James was born in Harrisville and accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young boy. He surrendered to the ministry in 1970. He pastored several churches in Copiah, Simpson and Scott counties, and was a faithful member and deacon of member at Hopewell Baptist Church. He was a member of The Order of the Master Masons of Crystal Springs.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin & Josephine Chandler of Crystal Springs, Step-mother Mary Delancey Chandler of Crystal Springs, and sister Helen Chandler Armstrong of New Hebron.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 1/2 years, Patricia Manning Chandler of Crystal Springs; daughters, Carol Sullivan (Danny), Connie Errington (Mike), and Pam Whittington (Gerald); grandchildren, Josh Errington of Brandon, Rebecca Sullivan Savitts (Robert) of Crystal Springs, Amanda Errington Lee (Jordan) of Crystal Springs, Whitney Whittington of Wesson, Andrew Presson of Meridian, Cody Sullivan (Victoria), Christi Sullivan, and Matthew Whittington all of Crystal Springs; great grandchildren Gracie, Elijah, Paisley, Aubrey, Weston, Kinley, Colton, Julianna, and Benton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of choice.
