Danny Holder
Danny Lee Holder, 67, of Crystal Springs, died Tuesday April 21, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be 12pm-2pm Thursday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs with services beginning at 2pm. The burial will follow at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Danny graduated from Ole Miss in 1970 where he was an art major and was a wonderful artist who enjoyed painting with oils. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He served in the US Navy as a Helicopter Medic.
Danny was an active member of First Baptist Church where he served on the budget committee and loved his church family.
Danny had a successful career of 25 years with Corinthian Colleges in the proprietary school of business as a Regional Associate VP of Admissions. Danny, Judy and Katie enjoyed traveling across the United States to various awards programs as a result of his success within the company. After retiring he enjoyed bringing new life to old pieces of furniture by painting and distressing each piece. He enjoyed sitting outside Garland’s Furniture and Antiques visiting with his friends and customers.
Danny wasn’t just a member of Rolling Hills Country Club since the mid 70’s he was an “ambassador” for the club. He served several terms on the Board of Directors and was the Greens Chairman each time. He could be found on any sunny day enjoying a friendly but competitive game with his buddies at Rolling Hills.
But above all else Danny was the most proud of his daughter Katie and his wife Judy. He never missed an activity Katie was involved in whether it was caravanning to football games or walking her across the football field at homecoming.
Danny always had a sense of pride in his family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Holder and Polly Lee Holder.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Holder; daughter, Katie Ann Holder of Crystal Springs; and sister, Paulette Papizan of Jackson.
