Ammie L. Davis

Ammie L. Davis, 91, of Hazlehurst, passed away October 6, 2016 at Pine Crest Guest Home.  Visitation will be 12pm-2pm Saturday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services will be 2pm Saturday at Stringer Family Chapel with interment at Lakewood.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Hazlehurst.  She lived in New Orleans, where she met her first husband, Clarence M. Chism.  After marriage they lived in California.  He passed away there in 1960 and she moved back to Hazlehurst in 1965.  She married her current husband, Frank Davis, in 1993.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hazlehurst, and was a supervisor at Royal Maid Industries for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Davis; daughter, Christine Chism Barlow of Hazlehurst; son, John Chism (Pat) of Poughkeepsie, NY; grandchildren, Tina B. Groebe (Chris), Al Barlow (Lyn), Matthew Barlow (Christy), Eric Chism, Christian Chism, and Katharine Hoyte (Andy); and eleven great grandchildren.
