Sonya Jackson

Sonya Jackson, 16, of Wesson, passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Monday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services will be 2pm Tuesday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Bethel Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Sonya was born in Mobile, AL.  She grew up in Copiah County.  She was a junior at Wesson High School.  She attended First Baptist Church and for several years Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother Amy Christine Huggins Granger; sisters, Taylor Jackson of Wesson and  Marcy Granger Propst of Valdosta, GA; brothers, Lester Parker of Hazlehurst and Stephen Broadwater of Terry; step father, James (Tex) Granger; maternal grandmother, Patty Hemphill of Hazlehurst; paternal grandmother, Annie Jackson of Crystal Springs; paternal grandmother, Shirley Jean Granger of Hazlehurst; maternal great grandmother, Evelyn Christine York of Cincinnati, OH;  and one niece Thea Everly Propst
