Letter to the candidates

If I were to write a letter to both presidential candidates and even to those running for U. S. House and Senate seats, it would be the following:

Dear Mr. Obama, Mr. McCain and candidates for federal representative offices:

I wanted you to know that I will not be voting for any of you, in spite of all the advertising mail I have file-13’d, commercials I have changed the channel on and rhetoric I have tuned out.  You have wasted millions of dollars to get elected, and it has had no effect on me, other than to make me sick to my stomach.

I am uninspired by any of your campaigns.  I am sick and tired of hearing that you know what Americans want and what’s best for America.  I am tired of seeing my tax dollars go to wasteful projects that benefit a few.  I am angry that more and more people who can work won’t work because they know that you are going to take care of them.  I am appalled that you have allowed the lawful killing of unborn, helpless babies for the past 30+ years.

I am taken aback by those of you who claim that America should apologize for fighting a war against Muslim extremists who have killed nearly 4,000 innocent Americans and an untold number of citizens of other countries simply because they were not Muslims.  I am highly perturbed you have not closed our borders to illegal immigrants.

I am deeply disturbed by your numerous attempts to rid America of Christianity through legislation, your appointment of  liberal judges and through your brands of political correctness.  America is still the greatest nation on Earth in spite of your meddling.

 I am dumbfounded by your unwillingness to stay out of the affairs of the thousands of small businesses who operate within the rules and create millions of jobs.  I can not understand that you can not figure out that raising taxes on anyone is good for everyone.  I am angry that you think that you and our top-heavy, burdensome government is the answer to all of our problems.

I could go on, but I’m sure you are probably trying to buy more votes and not paying much attention to me.  That’s fine.  I’m getting used to it.  And, I’m getting tired of it.

No, I’m not voting for any of you.  I am going to vote for someone else.  If things were different, and we the people actually controlled the political power in American, I would lead a movement to have Joe the plumber placed on the ballot.  That’s not going to happen in 2008.

By 2010, 2012 and 2014 things ARE going to be different.  You see, Joe the plumber has stirred a lot folks like myself to decide that enough is enough.  We are going to take our country back, even if its little by little.

So, enjoy your ride while it lasts.  Americans, like me, are angry with the lot of you.  We know it will take time to get most of you out of office and replace you with actual patriots, like Joe the plumber.  But, it’s going to happen.
