CA batted 1.000 with these two Pauls

Copiah Academy  has been in the news a good bit lately.  In last week’s Courier, the news was that the 47-year-old school had named a new headmaster–just the fifth in its history.  Paul Hayles, a two-decade veteran of coaching, teaching and administration, was chosen by the school’s executive board to follow current headmaster Carol Rigby.  She is retiring after the school year after spending 20 years in administration at Copiah.  And, she has done a phenomenal job of producing incredible, high-achieving students throughout her term.

Copiah announced this week that Paul Anderson, a 1988 graduate of the school, was hired to take over the school’s football program.  Anderson has coached with some the game’s best coaches over his 19 year career.  His experience with students and athletes (he coached record-setting former MSU Bulldog and current 49er Anthony Dixon at Terry High School) is strong, and I believe Paul will do well in resurrecting the school’s struggling football program back into state title contenders within a couple of years.

I’ve known both Paul Anderson (since 1st grade) and Paul Hayles (17 years) for a while.  Both are fine, fine men who have hearts of a teacher.  Students will relate well to them and give both their utmost respect because these two guys are going to command it through their actions.
CA has a hit a home run with these two guys.
