Tune in to this on Friday night

I eagerly watch the highly acclaimed film Killing Jesus, which is based on the book by the same title written by Bill O’Reilly of Fox News fame, over two nights earlier this week.  Not being much on reading books, I’d seen the promos for the movie and was eagerly awaiting its release.  After a busy weekend for my wife and me with baseball, church, kids and our grandchild, I had kind of forgotten about it, but ended up stumbling across it on the NatGeo channell on Sunday night about 15 minutes into the program.

The film is a gripping interpretation of Old and New Testament scriptures that revealed the events leading to Jesus’ crucifixion on Good Friday and subsequent resurrection on Easter.   The cast of actors and actresses chosen to play the various characters of the Bible stories couldn’t be better, and the film was directed perfectly.  Watching the film will make you feel like you were there–through all the risks (and sometimes, doubt) of being a follower, to the agony of the beating and humiliation of the Christ and the pain of his saddening death to the triumph of his resurrection.  You will want to follow along in your New Testament.

The movie will be shown again on Friday night at 7 and 10.  Don’t miss it.
