Lots of good news in Copiah County
This week’s paper has been a pleasure to assemble because of all the good news going on in Copiah County. Make sure you read the article at right about Co-Lin being named as a top community college in the nation, which comes a no surprise. Dr. Ronnie Nettles, President of the College, said that strength of Co-Lin’s human resources is the main factor in the success of Co-Lin’s students. Anyone that follows Co-Lin or is somehow tied to the school as a former or current student, staff, faculty member or supporter otherwise already knows that Co-Lin is a top-notch community college and is a strong partner in economic development throughout the district it serves.
Elsewhere: Chambers of commerce in Wesson and Hazlehurst celebrated the year’s successes and handed out awards to several key civic-minded individuals and businesses; winners were announced in school reading fairs; basketball teams are winding down (if you get a chance to go see the Wesson Cobras varsity boys, don’t miss it. The duo of Jones and Rhymes is staggering); and, the new hospital – Copiah County Medical Center – is on track to be finished before October, its original completion date.
If you see some of these folks, give them a pat on the back and let them know how much you appreciate them.
